NEO Credits and earnings
What NEO Credits are, how players buy and spend them, and how the Credits you earn as a creator move from pending to available.
On this page
Credits are NEO's currency. Players spend them on avatar items, game passes and developer products, and creators earn them when players buy what they make. Every Credit lives in your Wallet.
You need an account to have Credits: guests can't buy or spend them.
Your wallet#
The Wallet page shows four numbers.
| Number | What it is |
|---|---|
| Balance | What you can spend now: your purchased Credits plus your available earned Credits. The top bar shows this number too. |
| Purchased | Credits you bought. "Spend anywhere on NEO." |
| Earned | Credits you've earned from your games and items that are past the hold. |
| Pending | "Earnings on hold before they're available." |
Below them, History lists every movement of Credits: top-ups, purchases, and earnings becoming available, with the date and the amount in or out.
Buy Credits#
Credits come in packs, shown under Buy Credits on the Wallet page with their price. The largest pack is marked Best value.
- Choose Buy for and the price on a pack.
- A checkout opens in a new tab. Finish paying there.
- Back on the Wallet page, your balance updates by itself once the payment lands. If you closed the tab, choose Open checkout again.
Buying when you're short#
You don't have to visit the Wallet first. If you try to buy something without enough Credits, the Buy item dialog says how many more you need and shows the packs, with the smallest one that covers the difference already picked. Choose the pack's button (for example "Buy 500 Credits · $5.00"), pay in the checkout tab, and the dialog updates by itself so you can finish the purchase.
Spend Credits#
Players spend Credits with Buy on an item's page, in the Marketplace or in a game's store. The Buy item dialog shows Your balance and After this purchase before anything is spent.
- Purchased Credits are spent first, then earned ones.
- A game pass or avatar item can only be bought once. A developer product can be bought again.
- The price you saw is the price you pay: if a creator changes it while the dialog is open, the purchase stops and tells you the new price.
- Free items (price 0) show Get and cost nothing.
Earning Credits#
When a player buys something you made, your share of the price goes to your Pending earnings at once.
| What sold | Your share |
|---|---|
| A game pass or developer product | 70% |
| An avatar item | 40%, and the game it sold in earns 10% |
Earnings stay pending for 60 days, held against chargebacks. Then each sale's share moves to your available earnings, shown as Earned in the Wallet and Available in the Creator Hub, and a line in your History reads "Earnings available".
Purchased versus earned#
The difference matters when you cash out.
| Purchased Credits | Earned Credits | |
|---|---|---|
| Where they come from | Packs you buy | Other players buying what you make |
| Spend on NEO | Yes | Yes, once available |
| Cash out | No | Yes, once available, if you're 18 or older |
You request a cash-out on the Creator Hub's Monetization page. The smallest request is 1,000 Credits, and payment to you isn't available yet. See Monetization.
