Game passes and developer products
Sell game passes and developer products in your game from the Creator Hub, set and change prices, and stop selling.
On this page
Your game can sell two kinds of things to its players. Both belong to one game, are priced in Credits, and show up on the game's page.
| Kind | Bought | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Game pass | Once. A player who owns it can't buy it again. | Permanent unlocks: a VIP area, a special tool, a perk |
| Developer product | Again and again | Things that get used up: coins, boosts, extra lives |
You earn 70% of each sale of a pass or product, after the hold (see NEO Credits and earnings). Only you can sell passes and products in your own games, and you can't buy your own.
Create a pass or product#
You can do this in two places. Both create the same thing.
From the game's Store tab#
- In Creations, choose Manage on your game, then open the Store tab.
- Pick the Kind: Game pass (bought once) or Developer product (bought many times).
- Enter a Name (1 to 60 characters, and it has to pass the name filter) and an optional Description.
- Set the Price (Credits): a whole number from 0 to 1,000,000. A price of 0 makes it free.
- Choose List it.
The item appears in the grid below the form, and on sale at once.
From the Passes dialog#
On your game's card in Creations, choose Passes. The dialog, titled Passes and products and your game's name, lists what the game already sells and has a Sell something new form with the same fields. Here the kinds read Game pass (bought once) and Product (bought many times).
The dialog gives a hint when a price looks unusual: below 10 Credits it notes that very cheap passes rarely cover anything and most sell between 25 and 1,000 Credits; above 10,000 it notes that few players buy passes that expensive. It's only a hint: you can still list at any price in the allowed range.
Change the price#
- Store tab: each item has a price box under it. Type the new price and choose Save.
- Passes dialog: choose Price next to the item and enter the new price.
The new price applies to the next purchase. A player who opened the buy dialog at the old price gets an error that the price changed, so nobody pays a price they didn't see.
Stop selling#
- Store tab: choose the bin button next to the item's price (its label reads "Take" and the item's name "off sale") and confirm.
- Passes dialog: choose Stop selling and confirm.
The item leaves the game's page, and nobody can buy it any more. Players who bought it keep it.
What players see#
On your game's page:
- the About tab has a Passes section with your game passes;
- the Store tab lists everything the game sells, passes and products.
Each card opens the item's page, which shows the price, how many have sold, and Used in with a link back to your game. A signed-in player chooses Buy, confirms in the Buy item dialog, and the item goes to their inventory, under Game passes or Products. A game pass a player owns shows Owned instead of Buy; a developer product can always be bought again.
See how they sell#
- The game's Analytics tab has Top sellers: your game's items by number of sales, with what you earned from each. See Analytics.
- Monetization lists each sale, with the buyer, the price and what you earned. See Monetization.
