Game settings and versions
Manage one game in the Creator Hub, from its overview, versions and build locations to its details, key art and visibility.
On this page
Each game has its own page in the Creator Hub at /creator/experiences/<id>. To open it, choose Manage on the game's card in Creations, or the game in Your games on the dashboard.
The top of the page shows the game's key art, its title and its status (Public, Private or Draft). Game page opens the page players see, and Creations at the top left takes you back to your list. Under that are six tabs.
| Tab | What's on it |
|---|---|
| Overview | The headline numbers and the live version |
| Analytics | Visits, players, retention and revenue for this game (see Analytics) |
| Versions | Every version, which one is live, rollback, and Publish a version |
| Store | Game passes and developer products (see Game passes and developer products) |
| Testers | Who can play the game while it's private (see Private betas and testers) |
| Settings | Title, description, key art and who can play |
Overview#
Overview shows Playing now, Visits, Favorites and Rating (the share of votes that are thumbs up, with the number of votes). Under Live version is the live version's number, release notes and publish time, or "Not published yet" if there isn't one.
Versions#
Each publish makes a new, immutable version, and players always get the live one. Versions are numbered from 1, and the newest one goes live as soon as it's published.
The Versions tab lists every version, newest first. The live one is marked Live. Each version shows:
- its number, such as Version 3;
- its release notes (or "No release notes");
- when it was published;
- under Content, its build locations: the device each build is for (
web,desktop,mobile_high,mobile_lowand so on) and the URL of that build on the content network.
The list shows 50 versions at a time; Older versions loads the next 50.
Roll back or forward#
To make an earlier version live again, choose Roll back to this on it and confirm. To go back to a newer version afterwards, choose Make live on that one. Nothing is deleted: every version stays in the list, and you can switch between them as often as you like.
- Players who join after the switch get the version you chose. Sessions that are already running keep the version they started with.
- Publishing again still makes a new version (the next number) and puts it live.
- Only you, the game's creator, can see the list and switch versions.
Publish a version opens the same Publish dialog as on the Creations page. See Publish and share a game.
Build locations#
A version's build locations (content URLs) say where each device's build of the game lives. When you publish from the Studio, it uploads your project and fills these in for you. When you publish from the hub, open Advanced: build locations and enter them yourself.
- A version needs at least one build location.
- Each URL has to be on NEO's content network.
- A player can only play on a device type the version has a build for. Players on high-end phones get the low-end phone build if there's no high-end one.
Settings#
Details#
Change the Title (3 to 60 characters) and Description (up to 1,000 characters), then choose Save details. You can also edit these, and the thumbnail image URL, from the pencil button (Edit details) on the game's card in Creations.
Key art#
Key art is the image players see in every row of games and on your game's page. Choose Upload image and pick a 16:9 PNG, JPEG or WebP file up to 8 MB. NEO uploads it to the content network and uses it straight away.
Until you upload key art, your game shows a plain NEO cube outline.
Who can play#
This shows the game's visibility, with Make public or Make private. Public means anyone can find and play it; private or draft means only you and your testers can. A game needs a published version before it can be made public.
What you can't change here#
The hosting choice (Solo, Small groups, Hosted rooms or Dedicated servers) and the players-per-server number are set when you create the game, and the Creator Hub has no setting to change them. The genre is set at creation too.
